I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental, supportive space. My goals are to help reduce the experience of pain and suffering and to support building a life worth living. I teach tools that increase one’s ability to tolerate intense waves of emotion and spiraling negative thought patterns. We all develop coping strategies to manage challenging situations. I help clients identify effective coping strategies to reduce reliance on ineffective or harmful ones.
In addition, I provide consultation with parents to more effectively support their teenager.
Older adolescents coming to my practice want to work on a range of issues including:
- Anxiety
- Test anxiety
- Trauma
- Depression
- Self-harming behavior
- Bullying
- LGBTQ issues
- Transitions
- Parental divorce
- Sleep issues
I also offer therapy for young adults and adults.
